LMN World Laser Manufacturing Conference 2021 to be held in Shenzhen in August

“Intelligent Laser Manufacturing to Light Up the Future.” LMN World Laser Manufacturing Conference, a leading event in the laser industry focusing on technology innovations and applications, will be held at Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center (Bao’an New Hall) during August 4-6, after another year of improvement. The three-day event will feature a plenary session and several parallel forums, which will bring together more than 50 laser experts from different countries and regions including France, the United States, Germany, Russia, Japan and China.

The organizer of the conference said that this year's World Laser Manufacturing Conference is once again upgraded, with a new logo and key visual to create a unique brand of LMN. In addition, the event will also convey the official meaning of the letters "LMN" - "Laser Manufacturing Network". It aims to build a platform of interconnection, which belongs to everyone engaged in the laser industry across the world. This provides connections to key figures and important resources in the industry, and triggers sparks of creative thinking.

China's laser industry has been growing rapidly and achieved breakthroughs in various aspects in recent years, and is accelerating its import substitution. According to relevant research institutions, the scale of the country’s laser industry is estimated to exceed RMB 100 billion in 2021. In South China, a region with one of the largest laser sectors across the country, laser processing is in great demand, and a large number of listed laser companies have been incubated. Based in Shenzhen and expanding into South China and the Asia-Pacific region, LMN World Laser Manufacturing Conference will demonstrate its four key strengths - "A team of top scientists; New level of global thinking; Zero distance for international audience; Targeted matching with large market" to create a first-class event of technological innovation and application.

A team of top international scientists

LMN World Laser Manufacturing Conference has been successfully held for two years since 2019, with strong support from major industry associations and experts both in China and abroad. This year’s event will feature an even more prominent "all-star" lineup of speakers: Prof. Gérard Mourou, the Nobel Laureate in Physics who personally endorsed the conference, will be present at the plenary session online on August 4. In addition, Prof. Connie Chang-Hasnain, member of the US National Academy of Engineering; Prof. Yury Kulchin, Academician of Russian Academy of Sciences; Prof. Jianquan Yao, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences; Dr. Stefan Kaierle, Executive Director of Laser Zentrum Hannover, Germany; Dr. Moritz Förster, Managing Director of the Working Committee, Lasers and Laser Systems for Material Processing within VDMA, Germany; Prof. Katsuhiro ishii, Director of the Optical Society of Japan; and Prof. Jianhua Yao, Institute of Advanced Laser Manufacturing of Zhejiang University of Technology will deliver keynote speeches on hot topics such as VCSEL, additive manufacturing, composite manufacturing, future research directions in photonics, as well as the German and European laser markets.

New level of global thinking covers all application scenarios

Since the climax of the COVID-19 outbreak, China's manufacturing industry has rebounded, with overall performance improving significantly and the application scenarios of laser processing are expanding. In this context, the 2021 edition of LMN World Laser Manufacturing Conference has expanded again in terms of both content and scale. In addition to the plenary session and opening ceremony on the first day, the event will also feature several parallel forums covering various application scenarios of laser processing, including New Energy Vehicle Manufacturing and High Energy Laser Technology Conference 2021, Laser Technology Application Conference in 3C Electronics/5G Communication Industry 2021, Laser Technology Application Conference in Biomedical Industry 2021, the 8th Postgraduate Academic Forum Shenzhen University "Innovation and Lightning-Smart Call" Sub-forum and the highly anticipated 4th Laser Industry Innovation Awards. The five parallel forums will last for three days, at which a total of more than 50 leaders from the laser industry will give speeches on the latest applications of laser in various scenarios, sharing their unique insights from a professional perspective.

Zero distance for international audience through simultaneous live streaming

The 2020 edition of LMN World Laser Manufacturing Conference piloted a new model mixing online and offline sessions for the first time to ensure that foreign experts and visitors could attend the event despite the epidemic, which achieved great success. The plenary session and parallel forums of LMN World Laser Manufacturing Conference 2020 recorded more than 1,000 visitors on site and more than 10,000 visits online. This year’s conference will continue to use the same model, providing live streaming to the world. Breaking time and geographical restrictions, the event is committed to building an international, zero-distance-to-audience, professional communication platform.

Parallel event LASERFAIR enables targeted matching in the market

LASERFAIR, a parallel event of LMN World Laser Manufacturing Conference, also expanded significantly this year, with exhibition scale increasing by 50% and the number of exhibitors increasing by 30% over last year. In addition, a new cluster-based exhibition area for precision processing and industrial Internet is added, with exhibitors including Tencent, Foxconn, Black Cloud, Huazhi, Strong Laser, ZKJ Laser, Beyond Laser and Qinghong Laser. At LASERFAIR 2021, visitors will also see more developments combining laser with machine vision, CNC and machining processes, as well as cooperation cases with automation companies and end-use applications. Remarkably, the "disassembly show" by Tesla at the event will reveal the application of laser technologies in Chinese-made new-energy vehicles. LASERFAIR will also feature an official pavilion of Baden-Württemberg, Germany and Optoman from Lithuania. During the event, forums and exhibitions will form a supply-demand market of 10,000 players, providing visitors with a true one-stop experience integrating "trade + exchange + learning".

LMN World Laser Manufacturing Conference 2021 is co-organized by Guangdong Laser Industry Association, Shenzhen Association for Science and Technology, Hannover Milano XZQ Exhibitions (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. and Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai Ltd., under the guidance of Deutsche Messe AG and China Laser Industry Community Alliance.
